When Disaster Strikes

When Disaster Strikes

Although this title might be a little dramatic it's likely that your wedding day won't go 100% to plan no matter how hard you work at it. In our years of wedding photography we've seen:

    • hotel shuttle took the out of town guests (most of the guest list) to the wrong reception hall 40 minutes away

    • banquet hall power outage during a near tornado and backup generator failed

    • broken zipper while getting the bride into her dress- more times than we can count

    • limo doesn't show- again more times than we care to mention

    • bride walks down aisle to find her groom got into a fight the night before and has a black eye

    • guests in fist fight during reception

    • bridesmaid dress doesn't fit- so many times

    • bridal store sends wrong color bridesmaid dress two weeks before wedding

    • bride dislocates her knee during first dance and ambulance is called

    • groomsmen too drunk to walk down aisle

  • officiant too drunk to preform ceremony- that was the groomsmens' fault (this actually happened at one of Jeff's weddings!)

You can't control what will happen at your wedding. You can control your reaction. The absolute best thing you can do is plan BEOFRE the wedding for potential problems the most common of which is inclement weather: Plan A, plan B, plan C. Be mentally prepared for the day not to be 100% the way you pictured it. When the day comes you have to just go with it. There will be many things out of your control. Plan as well as you can up until your wedding day, and when it comes don't let anything stop you from enjoying it. The couples that have the best time at their wedding, and consistently get the best photos because their relationship shows through, are the ones who care about nothing on the wedding day except each other.
You can insure your wedding, and it's probably cheaper than you think.
